Latah Creek Reserve Zinfandel 2014

Latah Creek Reserve Zinfandel 2014
Latah Creek Reserve Zinfandel 2014

Father/daughter winemaking team, Mike and Natalie started their Reserve Red program in 2008, with the first release in April 2010. The idea was to give Natalie an opportunity to learn an individual grape intimately, on a small-scale level. She also wanted to produce small-lot, high-quality wines, and be able to change the varietal as she wants.

95% Zinfandel 5% Merlot

The warm 2014 growing season gave us wonderfully ripe grapes, accentuating Zinfadel’s aromas of bright berries. Because of its Reserve nature, this wine spent more time on oak, 36 months in French and American Oak, and is a small-lot wine; only 2 barrels were produced.

Alc.: 13.5%
Bottled: August 9, 2018 | 52 cases | Released: October 2018

This beautifully ruby-colored wine opens with black currant and plum aromas. Upon sipping, raspberry, vanilla, and anise fill your mouth, while blackberry, tobacco, and dark roasted coffee linger. This wine spent year in small oak cooperage, which added a warm toasty finish.

Enjoy this wine with meats, game, pasta dishes, and robust, spicy meals such as Ellena’s Tuscan Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca recipe in her latest cookbook.
