Latah Creek ‘A Toast to Best Friends’ Blend 2023

This wine draws inspiration from Ellena and her best friend Janna, who cherished their “wine-time” moments together. They would always have wine glasses chilled in the freezer, ready for their special blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. We crafted this blend to celebrate not only their friendship but also the bond shared by best friends everywhere: they hard to come by, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.

Every vintage, Mike and Natalie would produce their Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio and then create blends for Ellena to select the percentages for that year’s combination. She consistently favors a heavier Chardonnay but enjoys the lively and refreshing touch of Pinot Grigio.

Best Friends Tip: Ellena always keeps two wine glasses chilled in her freezer to share this white wine with her best friend!

Natalie’s Tasting Notes

My mom and best friend were never precise in their wine creations, but they consistently chose Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio as their foundational wines. While my dad and I crafted these wines, this blend truly reflects her vision, as she has the final say in its outcome. I hope you see how much love was put into this blend!  Both Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio are bursting with tropical flavors, yet you’ll detect the lemon zest on the nose from the Pinot Grigio and the sweet notes of papaya from the Chardonnay. The creamy mouthfeel showcases the Chardonnay, while peach and lime from the Pinot Grigio harmonize to create a well-balanced, flavorful wine that lingers pleasantly long after each sip.
