BACKGROUND
Father/daughter winemaking team, Mike and Natalie, love their red wine repertoire, but they also love adding new wines into the mix. This is one reason why they started their Reserve Program, to introduce small-lot, high-quality not widely produced wines. Their idea stemmed from the notion of Natalie wanting to experience various varietals not on their normal list. They are able to accomplish this by producing 100 cases or less of each unique varietal. Special attention is paid to these wines, which is why they are given the Reserve label

VARIETAL
90% 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley AVA
10% 2019 Petit Verdot, Wahluke Slope AVA

WINEMAKING
After having Cabernet Sauvignon back on their wine list with their 2014 vintage, Mike and Natalie decided they loved having it back! With their wonderful grape growers, they’ve been able to work out an agreement allowing them to source Cab grapes every few years. This gives them the ability to maintain their reserve focus for this varietal. Since Washington State Cabs can be overwhelming in their tannins, this wine spent nearly 2 years in oak aging and 4 months in bottle aging, to soften those tannins before being released.

TASTING NOTES
This juicy, ruby-colored wine begins with aromas of grapes, blackberry, and mint. Your mouth is then flooded with dark cherry, dried plum, and raspberry mingled with nuances of toasted oak. All this lingering long after the wine is swallowed Over 18 months of oak aging soften the tannins, making this wine velvety smooth.
